Jun 1, 1942 — May 7, 2026

Rexburg

Seta D Hammer was born June 1, 1942 in Aleppo, Syria to Dickran Selvian(aka Sevlian) and Izabel Papazian.

As a female growing up as a devout Armenian Christian in a male dominated Muslim country she had to fight hard to have the success she did her life.

She endured severe poverty in a communist country that had a lot of violence towards Christians. Yet her belief in God drove her whole life from a very young age.

She studied hard and got into the American University in Beirut Lebanon where she received her Bachelors in Nursing.

After finishing she moved to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia and worked as a nurse for ARAMCO where she met the love of her life Clifford Hammer on a blind date.

She was a phenomenal nurse that saved many lives and always fought for the underdog. She worked as a nurse for 46 years in almost every capacity from working in the hospital, home health, and teaching at a University.

She raised four children with unconditional love and did her best to instill in them the need for education and devotion to Jesus Christ.

Seta loved being a Grandmother of 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren with 3 on the way.

She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, and tending her roses. Being in nature with her husband camping, fishing and hunting gave her much joy.

She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and an incredible nursery leader.

She is survived by her husband Clifford Hammer, son Rod (Laura) Hammer, daughter Tina Hammer, and daughter Mindy (Dan) Clark.

She is preceded in death by her son John Hammer, great grandson Greyson Hammer, brother Hagop Selvian(aka Sevlian), brother Varoujan Selvian(aka Sevlian), brother Herayer Selvian(aka Sevlian), sister Yester Selvian, sister Yester II Selvian, father Dickran Selvian(aka Sevlian) and mother Izabel Papazian.
