Obituary

Shane C. Enlow passed away at home on October 27th, 2020. He was born in Rexburg Idaho on April 26th 1981, to Charles & Marie (Falvey) Enlow. Shortly after they moved to Sonoma California. Where Shane was joined by his 3 little sisters Brooke, Heather & Ciara. He learned taekwondo. He was a certified Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor, and worked as a head lifeguard for the Valley of the Moon Boys & Girls Club in Sonoma. When he was 15 years old earned his eagle scout with two palms. Shane graduated from Sonoma Valley High School in 2000.

He then joined the Navy where he was stationed in Yokosuka Japan to the USS Kitty Hawk. After 9/11, on October 1st, 2001 the Kitty Hawk was the one of the first ship deployed for 74 consecutive days in the North Arabian Sea, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Where Shane received a commendation for his exceptional work as a Parachute Rigger. After sometime the Navy's oldest active warship was underway for a routine deployment starting on January 23, 2003. When on Feb. 8, during this at-sea period, the crew of USS Kitty Hawk's deployment turned out not to be routine. On February 12 the ship was directed to the Arabian Gulf to deal with the regime of Saddam Hussein in Iraq. The aircraft carrier and her embarked air wing, arrived on Feb. 22, and spent more than 100 consecutive days in support of Operations Southern Watch & Iraqi Freedom. He received a second commendation with a fellow crewmember for securing an aircraft during a storm.

Shane was able to see many places while serving on the Kitty Hawk such as Korea, Phuket, Thailand, Guam, Hong Kong, Singapore, Busan & Australia to name a few.

During night drills off the coast of Australia he survived a fall off the deck of the Kitty Hawk, 45 min in the water, "The loudest quite I have ever heard" as he watched his ship pass over the horizon. Shane finished his service state side at Fallon Naval Air Base in Nevada. He then met Mandy Jewett through the church. They began to chat and decided to meet.… They were married on September 5th, 2009. Shane then gained an loving son Hunter. On January 10th, 2015 Katharine joined our family.

After the Navy Shane studied computers and became certified as an IT specialist, he attended ITT Tech. He worked in many fields as an IT specialist.

Following employment opportunities his family decided to move to Rexburg. Unfortunately some health complications arouse, causing him to step back from his career. Shane then enjoyed the opportunity to be a stay at home dad to raise children.

Shane is survived by his wife Mandy Jewett, stepson Hunter, daughter Katharine, parents Charles & Marie (Falvey) Enlow. Sisters Brooke Padgett, Heather (Devin) Petersen, Ciara Enlow-Whitten. Nieces Rylie Vahle-Enlow, Haylie Padgett, Aubrie Whitten. Nephews Brody Whitten, Andy Whitten, Lucas Petersen. Grandmother Sharon Falvey and LOTS of loving Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.04
