Sharon Ruth Hansen Blake, 83, of St. Anthony, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Sharon was born on March 20, 1941, to Lavon Hansen and Ruth Eames Hansen.  She joined two brothers, Gary and Jan.  Sharon grew up in St. Anthony, Idaho graduating from South Fremont High School in 1959.

She married Frank Brent Blake on June 13, 1962, in the Idaho Falls, Idaho Temple. They were married just short of 59 years when Brent passed on May 21, 2021. They raised 5 children together.

Mom taught first grade for 27 years. She taught at various schools, Parker Elementary, Archer Elementary, Lincoln Elementary and Kennedy Elementary. Mom was a true first grade teacher, she sometimes forgot she wasn't in the classroom and that she needed to adjust her speaking style for older individuals. Mom's writing was always perfect, and her instructions were spoken in a way that even a 6-year-old could understand them.

Sharon was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was committed to living the Gospel from a young age and set a strong example for all her family members. Family was everything to Mom. Her happiest times were spent when her kids, grandkids and extended family were together. She had a true testimony of the fact that families are forever and is certainly having a wonderful reunion with those members of her's that have passed on.

Sharon is survived by her children, Loreli Blake, Bruce (Yvette) Blake, Brig (Jacki) Blake, Nicol Green and Hilary Burgoyne, 16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank Brent Blake; brothers Gary Hansen and Jan Hansen; and a granddaughter, Sophie.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, April 6, at 1:00pm at the St. Anthony Stake Center.  A viewing will take place on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. and Saturday from 12:00pm until 12:45pm,  both times at the Stake Center. Burial will be in the Parker Cemetery under the direction of Bert Flamm Mortuary.
