IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sharon
Nielsen
November 25, 1941 – January 25, 2023
Sharon Johnson Nielsen passed away at Rigby Lake memory center on January 25, 2023 she was a beloved wife, sister, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, aunt and friend.
She was born on November 25, 1941 in Salt Lake City to parents Luke S Johnson and Hattie Canova Charlesworth. She grew up in Layton Utah and graduated from Davis high school. She was the middle child of their five daughters: Geneva, LaRae, Deanie, and Lonna.
Jay Laurence Nielsen married Sharon Aug 26, 1960 in the Salt Lake City temple and they shared their life together for 62 years. They had 6 children together:
Sherri, Melanie, Laron, Jason (stillborn), Guy, Christina.
Sharon loved sewing, quilting, canning, family history, and gardening.
She was a proud member of The church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She held various callings, some of which were Relief Society president, and early morning seminary teacher.
Sharon loved to serve and if you couldn't find her in the house you would be sure to find her pulling weeds, even if it was in her neighbors yard.
In April 1993, Sharon was in a very serious head on collision resulting in many challenges ahead of her. With time, she proved to endure those challenges well. She attended the Blind Commission in Boise Idaho in 1994 for 6 months.
Sharon loved people and gave the best hugs and back massages. She was well loved and surely will be missed by so many who loved her. Those who would like to honor her, we will be having a viewing at 9 AM, funeral services following at 10 AM at the Lyman LDS Church. The address to the church is:
1952 W. 6000 S., Rexburg, ID 83440
