Shelia Joy Marquez passed away bravely March 19, 2023. She was born on December 1, 1950 to Eldon and Ellen Rackham Gould. She was the third oldest of nine kids and grew up in Saint Anthony. She graduated from South Fremont High School in 1970, then attended Weber State University and graduated with her LPN degree from East Idaho Technical College.
Shelia married Santiago Valerio in 1971. To this union, three wonderful children were brought into this world. They were later divorced. Shelia then got remarried to Arcadio Marquez in 1976. To this eight-year marriage, two more wonderful children were born. They were later divorced in 1985.
Shelia loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and later in life her great grandchildren. She had such a profound love for them and you could always find her with them. Shelia loved helping others and she couldn't resist helping those in need. This main quality is why she was such a great nurse. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Shelia is survived by her five children: James (Darcey) Valerio, Jared (Jana) Valerio, Joy (Armando) Campos, Krista Bedolla and Kade (Elin) Marquez. 20 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He is also survived by Siblings, Larry, Gordon, Sandra, Joe, Eva and Brent. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eldon and Ellen Gould: siblings, Barbara Jean Gould and Randy Lee Gould, and one grandson Enrique Marquez.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the Wilford Second Ward chapel. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7-8:30pm. and Saturday from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. both times at the Church. Interment will be at the Wilford Cemetery and will be under the direction of Bert Flamm Mortuary.
