Obituary

Sheri Parkinson, 52, of Sugar City, Idaho was born in the early morning hours on October 4, 1965, in Rexburg, Idaho. She was the third of six children born to Donald L and Madelon Lufkin Parkinson. She returned to the other side on January 29, 2018 to her glorified and grand breathtaking perfect body and mind, after a couple of months of medical struggles.

Sheri grew up in Moody and attended school in St. Anthony. She was a true Cougar thru and thru. She graduated from South Fremont High School in May of 1985. As a graduation trip she was excited and got to go visit her sister Lorelei in Atlanta, Georgia.

Being a farmers daughter she learned hard work. At 8 years old she joined her sister Lorelei working on their dad's potato harvester and kept her place there until the sale of their farm in 1982. While growing up she participated in Special Olympics on the Track and Field Team, The Cross Country Ski Team and the Bowling Team. She was a great athlete and won many medals. After high school she went to work at Upper Valley Industries in Rexburg, where she worked and took life skills classes until the death of her mom. She loved being part of UVI and felt that they were all family there. Thru UVI she joined their bowling group. She would go bowling every week and could put most people to shame.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Sheri served as a primary worker for many years in the nursery. She also served as a visiting teacher for many years and gained many special friendships thru her service. Sheri served a 1 year mission as a temple worker in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. After moving to Idaho Falls she became active in a special primary group that met once a week. She loved to go there. She loved to be visited by her visiting teachers. They had a special love for each other.

After the death of her Mom she moved to Idaho Falls, where she joined the Grand Teton Services Group as one of the clients. She lived in 3 different homes with the last being over by Skyline HS. She resided there until time of her death.

She is survived by her siblings, Brad (Michelle) Parkinson of Sugar City, Idaho, Lorelei (Brian) Stewart of Rexburg, Idaho, Ted (Suzann) Parkinson of St. Anthony, Idaho, Richard Parkinson of South Jordan, Utah and Jolyn (Bart) Place of Herriman, Utah, as well as 26 nieces and nephews, 26 grandkids (her great nieces and nephews).

She was proceeded in death by her parents, both sets of grandparents and her boyfriend Rulan Hillman.
