Obituary

Shirlene Tuckett, 87, of Rexburg, passed on from this earthly life September 10, 2015 in the quiet of her home with her sweetheart by her side. She was born February 22, 1928 to Thomas Lyle and Viola Ricks Beech in Wilford, Idaho where she, along with her two sisters and brother learned good work ethics which she acquired working on the family farm in Wilford until the age of 18 when she left home with a new job.

She graduated from Sugar-Salem High School and later attended Ricks College. She married Claude Melvin Tuckett May 7, 1949 in Wilford, and they were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on April 15, 1955.

Shirlene worked for various companies such as; Mountain Bell, Texaco, Farmers Insurance, John Deere and Case Equipment Companies.

Shirlene was a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings. She had a softness in her heart for the ill, the down trodden, or anyone she thought could use a meal or treat and would take a nice home cooked meal to them. She enjoyed cooking and canning (She was most famous for her Huckleberry jam). She enjoyed her family and helping extended family with their farming harvests in any way she could.

She is survived by her husband; Claude Melvin Tuckett of Rexburg. Children; Tana Poulsen of Idaho Falls, ID, Todd Melvin (JaNece) Tuckett of Ballston Lake, NY, a brother; J.T. (Marilyn) Beech of Wilford, 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 13 step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters Helen Little, and Maxine Higginson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the Rexburg 15th Ward LDS Chapel, 166 South 1st East. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Saturday from 10:00 to10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will take place in the Sugar City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.flammfh.com.
