Obituary

Shirley Andersen Eddins Williams, 79, of Rexburg, Idaho passed away peacefully on February 23, 2022 in Homestead Senior Living.

Shirley was born on September 9, 1942 in Rexburg, Idaho to Ross Z. Andersen and Thora Mary Siepert. She was raised in Independence and attended Madison schools.

She married Gail Dexter Speas on April 26, 1959.  They were later divorced.  She married Eddie Ace Eddins on October 8, 1963.  They were later divorced.  She married David Gene Williams on February 14, 1989.  They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings, including as a cub scout leader, when her boys were young. She served a mission in Arizona among the Hualapais Tribe. She enjoyed indexing and genealogy work.  She loved serving and working in the temple.

She enjoyed spending time with family and being in the outdoors, camping, riding ATV's, boating, and other activities.  She enjoyed growing a garden and pulled a Bazillion weeds during her lifetime. She enjoyed a good book, some movies and a little TV, mostly older gameshows. In later life she enjoyed escaping the cold Idaho winters in her RV to Arizona, Mexico and to other warm places.

She was a homemaker all her adult life and had several jobs outside of the home. She drove school bus, was a Tupperware and Avon representative, desk clerk at the Fantastic Inn, and helped her late husband Gene build the Sandhills Resort into a thriving business.

She is survived by her children, Craig John Eddins, Paul Stephen (JoAnn) Eddins, Mary Lynn (Kevin) Flanary,  all of Rexburg, Idaho; sister, Elva Osborne Rogers of Clarkston, Washington; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene Williams; brother, Vern Andersen; sister, Lois Hoopes Peterson; son, Jamie Ross Eddins; grandson, Casey James Eddins.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 28, 2022 in the Park Street Chapel.

Family will receive friends from 5:00-6:30 p.m. Sunday, February 27 at Flamm Funeral Home and from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Monday, February 28 in the Park Street Chapel, prior to funeral services.
