Obituary

Stephanie Jeanne Wykle, 57, returned to her heavenly father on April 14, 2018 at Utah State University Hospital after a long battle with cancer.

Stephanie was born on May 23, 1960 in Chanute Kansas to Stephen Ray Card and Leah Rae Card. Soon after they moved to Ashton, Idaho where Stepanie would grow up. Growing up she always a friendly child, who made friends with everyone she crossed paths with, and loved being around her Dad.

She graduated from North Fremont High School in 1979, she loved high school and the friends she made there, and often kept in touch with most of her classmates throughout her whole life. Some of her hobbies at that time, were dancing, fishing, and the love of the outdoors. She began dating shortly after leaving high school and fell madly in love with Stacey Wykle. They got married on December 28, 1981 in Ashton, Idaho. Four years into their marriage, they welcomed a son Forrest Lee Wykle on May 16, 1985. Even with the joy of their baby boy, they later divorced in November of 1985. The couple remained great friends through out her whole life and his.

in 1987 Stephanie moved to Rexburg, Idaho and started working at Wilcox's, she enjoyed the hard work, and found love once again at the most unexpected time. She met Maynard Nelson. They both enjoyed going out on the town together, spending time in the outdoors and taking care of Forrest. On April 26, 1994 the couple welcomed a daughter, Amy Katherine Nelson into their growing family. Stephanie enjoyed spending time with her family, and being able to cook big meals for everyone. On February 26, 1999, the family said good bye to Maynard Nelson who rejoined Heavenly Father. Stephanie became a single mother of two children, and began a job at the Madison School District at Madison Jr. High School as a cafeteria lady. She loved working with the children and being able to be home with her kids more. She later left that job in 2001, and became a homemaker. She loved staying at home and watching her kids grow, they were the light of her life.

Stephanie is survived by her son Forrest Wykle of Rexburg, daughter Amy (Dondavid) Carlson of Idaho Falls.

She is preceded in death by Maynard Nelson and her parents Stephen and Leah Card.

Graveside services will be held 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 5th, at the Teton-Newdale Cemetery, friends and family are invited to attend. A luncheon will follow services at the Stake Center located on 590 Summerwood Drive in Rexburg.
