Steven Wayne Marley, age 69, passed away suddenly on October 1, 2022, at his home in Salem.
He was born in Pocatello, Idaho to John C. and Donna L. Marley. He was the first of four children. He always teased his twin brother, "He kicked me out and I showed him the way!" He grew up on a dry farm in Robin, Idaho. His family had a small dairy, and they also grew hay and grain. Wayne grew up driving tactor for his father. His love of horses began with his grandpa Ether Marley who farmed with several horses, Wayne's favorite being Jitterbug. All throughout Wayne's life he owned, trained and broke many horses. He became a professional farrier and worked with many more.
He attended Marsh Valley High School and continued his education at Ricks College, graduating with an associate degree. Before college, he met and married Annette Bagley in the Idaho Falls Temple. Together they raised four sons: Stanley, Cody, Casey, and Colby. All of their boys were raised in Salem on the farm.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, his sister Sharon and his brother Darryl. He is survived by his wife Annette and four children: Stanley Marley, Cody (Christine) Marley, Casey (Krista) Marley, Colby Marley and four granddaughters StevieRae, Kylee, KayLynn, Alice, and his twin brother Wendell (Kay) Marley.
The viewing will be held Wednesday, October 5, 2022, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Flamm Funeral home. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at the Salem LDS Chapel with a viewing from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.
