Susan Kay Bird, of St Anthony, ID, died on Monday, November 13th, at the age of 69, which her sons think is appropriate as that is the year of Jeremy's favorite camaro, the number of Jason's favorite Moto GP Rider, and the year of her first car - a 69 Mach 1 - which her sister wrecked. That's another story.

Susie was born on October 25, 1948 to Clarence and Vera Ard in St. Anthony, ID. She was the second child and had a wonderful childhood, spending her time between the family dry farm in Clementsville and the family house in St. Anthony where the children went to school. Her sister Sandy was her best friend and confidant until the day she died.

Susie worked as a chem tech for the INL under various contractors for over 30 years, and retired in 2011. Fishing was her passion, and she spent a lot of her spare time on the Warm, Teton and Snake Rivers. She had a love for animals, taking special care of many rescued pit bulls throughout her life.

Her sons and their families were the light of her life. She will be remembered as a doting mother and grandmother who worked hard to take care of those she loved. Her fun-loving and free spirit will be missed by all whose lives she touched.

She is survived by her son, Jeremy (Stephanie) Bird; son, Jason (Breezy) Bird; granddaughter and grandson, Aspen and Damien Bird; her step-son Rob (Jenny) Bird and family, all of Idaho Falls, ID; and her sister, Sandy Starr and her children, of Belleview, NE

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family would like to thank those who compassionately cared for Susie throughout her battle with pancreatic cancer, especially those at Encompass Home Health and Hospice.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
