IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tamara Kaye
Mckague
May 20, 1959 – November 19, 2022
Tamara Kaye Rasmussen McKague, 63, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2022, surrounded by family in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Tammy was born to Don and Marlene Rasmussen on May 20, 1959, in Rexburg, Idaho. She played basketball and volleyball during her school years and loved being active. After high school, she attended beauty school and loved doing hair.
Tammy married Edwin Michael Nelson on July 13, 1979. They had four beautiful children, Ashley, Brittany, MacKenzie, and Mitchell. Together, they raised their family all over the country, and made several moves. They lived in Rexburg, Idaho; Idaho Falls, Idaho; Papillion, Nebraska; Mesa, Arizona; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and Cedar City, Utah. Tammy and Mike were later divorced.
Tammy married her sweetheart Charley Byron McKague on May 7, 2003. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple in February 2005. With this marriage, Tammy gained two stepdaughters, Kelli (Mike) Duncan, and Jenna McKague. The two of them have lived happily in Salem, Idaho, for the remainder of her days. Tammy worked at Melaleuca for 26 years, starting with the product store in Rexburg, and later moving to Customer Care.
Tammy had a magical laugh. She loved playing games with her kids and Sunday game nights were the absolute best. And whether it was Sunday games, a birthday, or the holidays, she always prepared the most delicious snacks. Tammy loved to make her family feel comfortable, she was the ultimate hostess and wanted everything to be picture perfect. She loved creating games and had a knack for creating memories with her family.
Tammy loved to be outside, especially camping with Byron, family and friends in Kilgore. That was her favorite place. Her grandchildren affectionately called her "Grammy Tammy" and she loved that name. She was proud to be a grandmother. Grammy Tammy loved spending time with her grandkids, whether she was playing games with them, cooking with them, or making crafts with them. Grammy Tammy will be missed by her 20 grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, C. Byron McKague, her children, Ashley (Carl) Vermillion, Brittany (Adrian Ball) Nelson, MacKenzie (Aaron) Burk, and Mitchell (Kaitlyn) Nelson; Kelli (Mike) Duncan; Jenna McKague; her brothers and sisters: Rocky Rasmussen, Jolene Rasmussen Archibald, Bryce Rasmussen, Trena Rasmussen Harrison, Kent Rasmussen, Shamae Rasmussen Bowen, and Rochelle Rasmussen Russell.
