Obituary

Tamra Sue Orr passed away July 22, 2022 at home surrounded by family. She was born September 4, 1955 in Rexburg, Idaho to Cecil Legrand and Rula (McGarry) Rainey, baby sister to brother Gary and sister Joan.

She attended schools in Rexburg and graduated from Madison High School in 1973 where she enjoyed being on the drill team and other school activities. She began working for American Land Title Company her senior year.

Tamra met her eternal companion Brad Orr on a blind date. Their planned wedding date had to be delayed a few days due to the Teton Dam breaking so on June 11, 1976 they were sealed in the Idaho Falls temple. Brad and Tamra, resided in Rexburg for two years until they moved to the Egin Bench where they have made their home for 44 years. In 2007, with lots of hard work, they built their dream home on that same hill where many memories have been made with their two daughters, twin sons and thirteen grandchildren with one on the way!!!

Tamra's joy was having her family in her home. She was an excellent home maker. She had a love and knack for baking and was known for her many treats, wedding cakes and Eagle Scout cakes. She was always preparing a meal for neighbors and anyone who was in need. The family was so proud that her divinity always brought top dollar at the annual ward bake sales. Her recipes are still in demand but no one can make them like mom!

Tamra worked at Parker Egin Elementary school for over twenty years. She worked for many years in the library but her favorite task was helping children learn to read. Her gift was not limited to the classroom, as her grandchildren loved snuggling on grandma's lap to hear her read them their favorite books as well. She later worked in the medical billing field for the Rexburg Medical Center and Madison Foot and Ankle Care.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in the Primary, Young Women's organization, and ward and stake Relief Societies. She was always diligent to serve where she was asked. She lovingly and faithfully served those around her, including her family, even while battling health struggles the last few years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Gary, daughter Nichole, many loved sister-in-laws and family members. She is survived by her husband Brad, sister Joan (Randal) Leatham, children: Brittany (Garrett) Foster, Dustin (Shawnee) Orr, Destry (Elizabeth) Orr and thirteen+ grandchildren (Mailey, Kaydence, Adilynn, Nakeaden, Axton, Warrick, Brevan, Tenley, Rhett, Grant, Kendyl, Reagan, and Campbell).

Services will be held Thursday July 28, 2022 at 11 am at the Egin Bench Ward Chapel, 1633 East 400 North, Saint Anthony, Idaho. Viewings will be held July 27, 2022 from 6 to 8 p.m. and July 28, 2022 from 10 to 10:45a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at the Parker Cemetery under the direction of Bert Flamm Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers we know mom would love to see donations sent to the South Fremont Education Foundation.

Funeral services will be live-streamed and may be viewed here: https://youtu.be/6LmIfKh97cs
