Obituary

Ted Veldon Gould, 77, of Wilford, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at Madison Memorial Hospital. He was born May 7, 1939, in Newdale, Idaho, the son of Walter Chester Gould and Alta Ida Davis Gould.

He married Sylvia Bakula, February 8, 1958, and two children were born: Bud Jay Gould and Danny Ray Gould. They were later divorced. He later married Glenna Fikstad on July 1, 1969. Glenna brought into the family two children, Rima Gould Alderete and Todd F. Davison. Ted and Glenna later had a son Dell Walter "Smokey" Gould.

Ted is survived by his five children: Bud (Sheila), Danny (Deverie), Rima (Les), Todd (Colette), and Smokey (Kim), 21 grandchildren, 25.5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers: Ray W. Gould (Freddie) and Max R. Gould, his sisters: Irene Alta Beard (Gale), Bonnie Struhs (Gary), Sherri Schmitt (Rob), Diann Albertson (Dan). He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Lloyd Gould, Vern Gould, Glen Gould, Dale Gould, Lynn Gould, and a baby brother.

In his younger years Ted enjoyed boxing. He enjoyed anything outdoors: hunting, snowmobiling, golfing, fishing, horseback riding, and camping. Later Ted and Glenna would winter at Beaver Dam in Nevada, spending time with friends and four wheeling. He loved spending time with his friends, family, children, grandchildren and his great-grandchildren.

Ted was a member of the Idaho Army National Guard in St. Anthony and served as a Combat Engineer.

Ted worked in logging, construction, and long haul trucking. He did custom farming with his father and brothers and helped his father run a potato warehouse in Sugar City. He later farmed with his brothers Vern and Max. Ted had a trucking business with his sons Danny and Smokey, Ted V. Gould and Sons Trucking, along with Gould Distributing selling stoves and hot tubs. He purchased the Idaho Stud Mill in St. Anthony and worked with his son Bud running Georgia Pacific Reload. He later partnered with his son Smokey in T & S Farms, farming until the time of his death.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 29, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg. Family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
