Obituary

Ted Nelson Hill passed away peacefully of natural causes, at Madison Memorial Hospital on December 2, 2013, surrounded by his family.

He was born March 18, 1941, in Logan, Utah to Albert Francis Hill and Melna Nelson Hill. He started his life as a premature baby weighing only 3 lbs and spent the first 5 weeks of his life in the hospital. He grew up in Richmond, Utah and attended North Cache High School where he loved playing basketball and was student body president. He married his 7th grade sweetheart, Mary Lee Alvey on September 30, 1960, in Lewiston, Utah and they were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple.

In 1960, they moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho where Ted began his construction career working for Skidmore Construction. In 1970, he started his own construction company building custom homes in Idaho Falls. In 1973, he moved his family to Rexburg where he continued his construction business. He built numerous custom homes in Rexburg and the surrounding areas. He developed lifelong friendships with many of his customers and subcontractors. After retiring from construction, he continued his career in Real Estate "working for his lovely wife."

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and was a High Priest. Over the years, he enjoyed many callings within the church.

Ted loved life and he loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Any time there was an activity, it didn't matter if it was fishing, hunting, a 4 wheeler ride, or just sitting under a tree in the back yard drinking a pop, everyone was invited and he always made sure everyone was having a good time.

He loved his little dogs, Scooter and Scamper, and spent hours making sure they were always taken care of. He also enjoyed spending time with his many friends.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lee, and children, Ted (Becky) Hill of Sandy, Utah, Chuck (Jeanette) Hill of Rexburg, Idaho, and Tyra (Chris) Andrews of Rigby, Idaho, along with 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Bonnie Karren of Ririe, Idaho and brothers, Mont Hill of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Dennie Hill of Blackfoot, Idaho.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Millhollow 2nd Ward Chapel, 315 Gary Drive in Rexburg, with Bishop Duane Siddoway officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home, 61 North 1st East, in Rexburg, and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Sugar City Cemetery.
