Thomas "Bill" Gary Crossan, 75, died February 28, 2012 of natural causes at his home in Rexburg, Idaho.
He was born December 24, 1936 in Kingston, West Virginia, to Phillip Joseph and Mollie Augusta Webb Crossan, the fifth of six boys. He graduated from Kingston High School where he was a member of the state boys basketball championship team, and then joined the United States Marine Corps.
He married Vernell Lord on October 1, 1955 in Macon, Georgia. They moved to Rexburg in 1970 where he was employed as an electrician for Upper Valley Electric. He later opened his own electrical company, Georgia Boy Electric.
He was a member of the Rexburg Community Presbyterian Church.
He enjoyed visiting with friends at the Rexburg Senior Citizens' Center as well as assembling puzzles, playing dominoes and pinochle with his kids, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He loved playing softball and basketball, bowling, fishing, and golf. One of his greatest pleasures of all was barbecuing ribs for his family.
He is survived by his children Yvonne Crossan of Idaho Falls, Thomas (Joni) Crossan of San Antonio, Texas, and Beverly (Garth) Miller of Rexburg; brothers Gene Crossan of Houston, Texas and Herman Crossan of Macon, Georgia; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Edward, Joseph, and James Crossan, and his beloved wife.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 5 at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 to 10:45 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Sugar City Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Madison County Veterans and Idaho Honor Guard.
