Obituary

Thomas Raymond Purcell, 76, of Idaho Falls, died Thursday, November 20, 2014 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 17, 1938 in Buellton, California to Jim and Leona Purcell.

He attended Rigby High School where he loved to play football and graduated in 1957.

He was member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served an LDS mission to New Zealand.

He married Carol Davidson in December of 1984.

He worked for Basic American Potato and retired from there in 2000.

They moved to Boise where he co-managed a 600 unit storage facility. He had a golf cart and he loved giving rides to his grandchildren when they visited at work. After retiring in 2009, he and Carol bought their first home in Ammon where he enjoyed retirement and collecting eagle memorabilia. He was loved and will be missed, we send him off on wings of an eagle.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Purcell, his children, Charlotte, Lynette, Alison, Bret, Ben, Gina, Bryce, Brian, Jason, Bradley, Heidi, Bruce, Jared, and Ilene as well as 39 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Roy Wilcox, Marie Hill, Lois Purcell, Dick Purcell and Maurine Purser.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 24, 2014 at the Ammon 21st Ward Chapel located at 4030 John Adams Parkway, Ammon, Idaho, with Bishop Jared Kunz officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and again from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Parker Cemetery.
