Obituary

Thomas Harry Rawson
October 12, 1947 – September 14, 2025

Thomas Harry Rawson was born on October 12, 1947, in St. Anthony, Idaho, to Flora Duncan and Thomas A. Rawson. He was the seventh of nine children, growing up alongside his sisters Dorothy, Sadie, Thelma, Mable, LaRae, and Jennet, and his brothers Don and JP.

Harry attended schools in Plano and St. Anthony, graduating from South Fremont High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving honorably as a generator mechanic. His service concluded in 1968 after the passing of his brother JP.

On March 23, 1966, Thomas married the love of his life, Deloris Ann McIntier. Together, they built a loving home and raised five children: Thomas Arthur, Daniel Delbert, Tamara Ann, Deborah Dee, and Kerry Lynn.

Harry was a passionate outdoorsman who loved camping, fishing, and hunting. He especially enjoyed his time as a Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 87, where he mentored many young men.  His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were his greatest pride and joy. He was overjoyed to learn he would become a great-grandfather, and he proudly shared stories about his family with anyone who would listen. His nieces and nephews held a special place in his heart as well.

He worked for Coca-Cola Distributing in Idaho Falls, but his favorite job was working many years for Louisiana Pacific in Rexburg, Idaho, where he made many lifelong friends. He worked until a stroke in 1992 prevented him from returning.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters Dorothy, Mable, Sadie, Thelma, and Jennet; and his brothers Don and JP.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Deloris Rawson of St. Anthony, Idaho; his children: Tommy Rawson, Danny (Dawn) Rawson, Tammy (Todd) Ward, Debby McCausey (Jason Harris), and Kerry (Seth) McFarland; as well as nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and his sister LaRae(Bill) Peacock.

Harry passed away peacefully on September 14, 2025, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, surrounded by his loving family.
