Tom Wohlleben, 86, of St. Anthony, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2023, at the Ashton Living Center.
Thomas "Tom" Irvin Wohlleben was born in Ashland, WI and raised on a dairy farm in Butternut, WI where he attended Butternut High School. He married the love-of-his-life, Nancy Hagmann Wohlleben, with whom he raised four sons. Always a fan of the American West, Tom moved his family to St. Anthony, ID where Tom worked primarily as a logger, spending his off-hours doing what he loved best – hunting, fishing, and driving the Red Road with Nancy looking for Sage Grouse.
Tom is survived by his sons – Mark (Donna) Wohlleben of Argyle, NY; Rich Wohlleben of Glen Rock, WY; Carl (Siobhan) Wohlleben of New York City, NY; and Craig Wohlleben of Grand Junction, CO. He is also survived by his grandchildren – Delia Wohlleben of Hudson Falls, NY and Derek (Chloe) Wohlleben of Argyle, NY – as well as his great grandchildren – Easton Randall, Leah Gale, and Camden Anthony, who was born two days before Tom's passing.
Tom was predeceased by his wife Nancy by nine days. The couple had recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Nancy and Tom had been faithful members of Zion Lutheran Church in Ashton and of Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Anthony.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 2, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the Zion Lutheran Church, 9th and Main, in Ashton. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:30 until 7:00 p.m. at Bert Flamm Mortuary, 581 E. 1st N., St. Anthony and on Thursday from 10:00 until 10:45 at the church. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery at St. Anthony.
