Tracy James Costello, 45, of Salem died Saturday, December 2, 2023.  He was born in Santa Cruz, California, to Gary Lee Costello and Leona Karlene Prentice. He grew up in Santa Cruz, California; Sacramento, California; Reno, Nevada; and the majority of his teenage years in Phelan, California.

After turning 21, he moved to Sitka, Alaska and became an engineer for Allen Marine, Inc. He was their mechanic / plumber for 13 years. During his time there he met his wife Charissa Rae Costello (Shane). They had three daughters during that time as well.

In 2012 , they moved to Fallon, Nevada where he was a heavy equipment mechanic for A&K Earth Movers, Inc for four years. From there he and his family visited Houston, Texas for about six months before moving to Rexburg, Idaho. There he started his career as a mechanic for Salt Lake Express.

He enjoyed his job and co-workers. His hobby for the last five years was driving a stock car at Idaho Falls Raceway. He loved it very much. Even won a championship last year 2022 on his birthday. He had been together with his wife for 22 years and married on March 16, 2007 to the love of his life.

T.J. is survived by his wife Charissa Rae Costello, his three daughters Serena, Alicia, and Caitlin. As well as his in-laws  Frank Shane & Rosaline Shane and his siblings Jolele & Rob Owens, Frank Shane, William Shane, and Denise Shane.

He is preceded in death by his parents Gary Costello & Leona Prentice.  Private family services will be held at a later date.
