Obituary

Tressa Isabella Murdoch Garrett passed away peacefully on June 29th, 2016 surrounded by those she loved and loved her. She was 98 years old.

She was born on January 5th, 1918 in Farnum, Idaho to Brigham and Martha Louanna Murdoch. She was the 6th of 10 children. She graduated from high school in Emmett, Idaho, then returned to the St Anthony area where she met the love of her life, Clyde Garrett. They were married and sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake temple on January 4th, 1938; six children were born to their union.

Tressa was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she served in many callings. She had a great love of genealogy and spent much of her time finding her ancestors and helping others find theirs. She found great pleasure in serving others and spent much of her life doing so.
In the last few years she was blessed to live with her daughter Pamela, son in law Anthony, and good friend Nettie Winkle in Rexburg.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Clyde Garrett, her daughter Clydene Womack, both parents and seven of her siblings. She is survived by daughters Geraldine (Wendell) Merrill of Pasco WA, Sandra (Irvin) Schmitt of Caldwell, ID, Pamela (Anthony) Winkle of Rexburg, ID, Ivana (Leland) Nebeker of Eugene, OR, son in law Dennis Womack of Apple Valley, UT and son Brigham (Jamie) Garrett of Middleton, ID. Sister, Kati Lyon, brother, Wallace Murdoch, brother in law Theron Garrett and sisters in law Mauna Shadoan, Verona Powell and Grace Murdoch. She has 25 grandchildren, 89 great grandchildren and 33 great, great grandchildren.

Her funeral will be held on July 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the St Anthony 2nd LDS Ward Chapel (145 E. 1st N.) with Bishop Michael Smith officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 1, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Bert Flamm Mortuary (581 E. 1st N., St. Anthony) and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the Church. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery. The family would like to thank Carriage Cove, Solace Hospice, and Madison Memorial hospital for their care and kindness during her stay.
