Obituary

Treva Doraine Hill Dewey, 78, peacefully passed away on June 1, 2012, at her home in Victor, Idaho. Treva was born April 17,1934 in Darby, Teton County, Idaho, the daughter of Dellis Glen Hill and Dora Larsen. She was the youngest of six siblings. She married James "Jim" Wesley Dewey, Sr. on February 20,1953 in Victor, Idaho and their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS temple on February 24,1965.

During her younger years Treva lived in Darby. She graduated from Teton High School in Driggs. She then attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. After marrying Jim, the couple lived on the family ranch in Chapin. In 1953 their first daughter, LuAnn was born. Their second daughter, Glenda Jo, came along in 1956. Their only son, James was born in 1962.

Most of her married life she could be seen helping her husband fixing fence, working with cattle, baling hay, and anything else that needed done around the ranch. She worked at numerous jobs and in serving the community. She was a member of the Cowbells, was librarian at Valley of the Teton Library and sewed at Rivendell Mountain Works (then located in the old Chapin church). She also cooked for the Teton School District for thirteen years and fed over 421,000 kids.

Treva was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings including visiting teacher, Primary presidency, Relief Society presidency and as a Sunday School teacher.

Treva is survived by her husband Jim, of 59 years, Daughters; LuAnn (Milt) Webster of Rexburg, Glenda Jo (Bart) Webster of Victor, son; James (Valerie) Dewey of Victor, thirteen grandchildren and 11 3/4 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother; Delmar (Barbara) Hill of Darby, two sisters; Arlene Hatch and LaReta (Ted) Kelso both of Ogden, Utah along with many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, infant brothers; Rosco Glen, brother and sister-in-law; Farriel (Mary) Hill, brother-in-law; Smith Hatch and a great grandson; Tyson Webster.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the Victor LDS church. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Victor church and Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Darby Cemetery.
