Vada Coles Tirrell, 96 of Rigby, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the Gardens in Rigby. She was born May 14, 1921 in Rigby Idaho. She was the 9th child of 4 boys and 5 girls born to Alvin Coles and May Ida Fogg.

She married Orlin John Tirrell on April 24, 1942 in Logan Utah. Shortly after they were married Orlin was drafted and spent most of his service time in Alaska where Vada was able to join him for the last year. After Orlin's military service they returned to Odgen Utah where their first son Brent Jay was born. After living in Ririe, Idaho for two years they drew a homestead on the Heart Mountain Bench where they lived from 1951 to 1975. Their other two sons, Bart Coles and Douglas Orlin were born in Powell Wyoming. In 1975 they moved to Lovell, Wyoming and farmed near the Big Horn River for 5 years. They returned to the area where they grew up, Rigby, Idaho in 1985 where they have lived together until July of 2016 when Orlin passed away. Vada passed quietly at the Gardens in Rigby on May the 17th three days after her 96th birthday. Her family gathered together for her 96th birthday, a very special time for all.

She leaves a legacy of strength and love, and an unfaltering testimony of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her love and example is cherished by her family and all those who knew her.

Vada is survived by her three of her sons, Brent Jay (Carolyn) Tirrell of Lovell, Wyoming, Bart Coles (Lori) Tirrell of Oylmpia, Washington, and Douglas Olrin (Julie) Tirrell of Rigby, Idaho as well as 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren

She is preceded in death by her husband, Orlin, sons; Curtis and Rick and a great grandson, Joseph Strom.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 20th at the Rigby Sundance LDS Chapel. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
