Veletta Mae Hemmingson Linville, 87, of Rexburg, died August 31, 2017 of natural causes. She was born December 14, 1929, in Red Wing, Minnesota, to William and Mabel Hemmingson. She has a sister, Vivian Koplin. Growing up together they loved playing on Barn Bluff and created many favorite memories there. Vel excelled in school and loved to read and was a speed reader.
After graduation she moved to Denver, Colorado where she met a handsome Air Force man, Harvey Kay Linville. They were married May 25, 1953.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many leadership positions. The gospel was very important to her and she instilled that love in her children.
She is survived by her husband, Harvey of Rexburg; children, Sandy Bland of Rexburg, Craig Linville of Coeur D'Alene, Brent (Sharon) Linville of Elgin, Oregon, Laurel (Ken) Lafrance of Des Moines, Washington, Amy Zollinger of Rexburg; sister, Vivian (Robert) Koplin; 29 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons-in-law, Michael Bland and Garland Zollinger; three grandchildren, Benjamin Bland, Jeff Boyle and Lily Zollinger.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 5, at the Burton East Chapel with Bishop Michael Bressler officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Rexburg Cemetery under the direction of Flamm Funeral Home.
