Verl Dee Arnold passed away on July 4, 2012 at his home in Pocatello, Idaho. He was born January 17, 1932 at Rexburg, Idaho to Stanley and Verna McCulloch Arnold. He attended Cedar Point School and graduated from Madison High School in Rexburg. While in high school he met his sweetheart, Shirley Ricks. They were married July 22,1948.
Verl was raised and lived on the family farm in Lyman , Cedar Point Ranch, until his retirement. He was a successful farmer, stockman and rancher, raising sheep and cattle. After selling the family farm, he and his wife retired to Pocatello.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had a great love for basketball and was an avid rock collector.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley, of Pocatello, and five children; Sherrie (Bill) Tanner of Rexburg, Kerry (Ann) Arnold of Layton, Utah, Don (Sherry) Arnold of Rexburg, Dale (Carrie) Arnold of Pocatello, David (Linda) Arnold of Provo, Utah, a sister; Judy (Dennis) Stohl of Roseville, California, 22 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 9, 2012 at the Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg. The family will receive friends that morning from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Sutton Cemetery at Archer.
