Vern Douglas Pincock, 89, of Meridian, formerly of Monteview, passed away peacefully February 5, 2016, surrounded by his family. He was born January 15, 1927, on the family homestead in Sugar City, to Douglas Pincock and Reah Dalling Pincock. He was raised and attended school in Sugar City.
In 1945, he enlisted in the US Navy as a Pharmacist Mate. He served six months at Camp Pendleton then finished his tour of duty in the Philippines.
He married Peggy Bromley on August 28, 1947. They divorced two years later. According to his children, he then married the BEST woman ever, Violet Hope. They were married on February 24, 1950, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
He farmed and had a dairy for most of his life and was a very hard worker. He loved to raise and train horses and his children loved to ride with him. He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. He loved his children and spent a lot of time with them. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Brett (Shari) Pincock, Patricia (Mike) Bernard, Jannett Pincock, Lennie (Valerie) Pincock, Kenneth (Sheila) Pincock, Larry (Vickie) Pincock, Tena (Clark) Healey, Rick (Veronica) Pincock, Lynnette (Randy) Jones; a brother, George Pincock; 41 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Terry Lee and Michael Klingler; sisters Lorna Davies and Geraldene Pincock; and brothers Max and Blair Pincock.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 12, at the Terreton LDS Stake Center with Bishop Chris Holdaway officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the stake center prior to services. Interment will be in the West Jefferson Memorial Park under the direction of Flamm Funeral Home.
