On May 22, 2016, Heaven got a new angel when Violet Lake Howard passed away at EIRMC.

Violet was born on August 29, 1977 to Helena Ann Lake. She was a beautiful, unexpected blessing for both her mother and grandparents. As a child, Violet loved to play with her sister and be with her family. She attended several school in the Idaho Falls area from Bonneville to Skyline, and graduated from Fairview Alternative school. At Bonneville, she ran track and went to state for high jump.

She was very active in other school activities like cheer, but her passion was dance. She took lessons at Dance Tec and soon her teacher noticed her potential and passion and made her an assistant teacher. Violet was a later a teacher at Eagle Rock Dance Academy. She loved choreography and making up new dances and moves to music.

In 1998, she was married to Jesse Clark and moved to Utah. A few years later, they divorced and she returned home to Idaho. In 2003, she met Chris Howard and married. They had two beautiful girls, Briana May and Hayden.

With the help of Chris, she opened "The Dance Bag", a dance clothing store. She wanted to work but be available for her girls at the same time.

She is survived by her 3 daughters, Briana and Hayden Howard and Faith Humphries; her sister Carma Schmidt; brother Miguel (Carmen) Martinez; her mother and step-father Helena and Margarito Martinez; and her father Jaime Lopez, all of Idaho Falls.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents August and Enid Lake and many great aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 27, at the Coltman LDS Chapel, 12448 N. 5th E., in Idaho Falls. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Grant Cemetery under the direction of Flamm Funeral Home.
