Obituary

Violet Jensen passed away peacefully on October 16, 2024, at the age of 85, after struggling with dementia for ten years. She was born April 30, 1939, in Independence, Idaho, to Erma LoRee and Andrew Wesley Hansen.

She grew up in Thornton, Idaho, along with her five sisters. She attended Madison High School where she met her sweetheart Terry Lane Jensen. They were married on February 15th , 1958, in Rexburg, Idaho. Due to Terry's occupation in the sawmill industry, they lived in various places, including Helena, Montana (where both Jeffery and Teresa were born); Paris, Idaho; Rexburg, Idaho (where both Angela and Crystal were born); Missoula, Montana; Saratoga, Wyoming; Dillon, Montana; Orofino, Idaho; Tucson, Arizona; and finally resting in Mayer, Arizona, for the past twenty-four years.

For the formative years of her children's lives, Violet was a stay-at-home mother. As her children grew older, she ventured into the work force. She held various jobs including Montgomery Ward, Grogan's Groomer, Osterberg Optometrist, and State Farm. Her biggest work accomplishment came in 2002 when she received her Real Estate license from the State of Arizona at the age of 63!

She received many Church callings in the Relief Society, Primary, Young Woman's, Camp Director, and Ward Librarian. She was sealed to her family for time and all eternity on January 22, 1977.

She enjoyed the outdoors and picnicking and camping with her family. Huckleberry picking was among one of her favorite annual activities. One of her all-time favorite places to visit was the Grand Canyon, which she visited as often as she could. She was extremely talented in a myriad of things, including baking, gardening, canning, sewing (she made many of the clothes for her family to wear), quilting, making crafts of all sorts and kinds, and she even painted a few pictures. She loved spending time with her family no matter the occasion.

She leaves behind her beloved and devoted husband Terry Lane Jensen of Mayer, Arizona, son Jeffery Lane (Diane) of Phoenix, Arizona, daughters (Teresa Faith Oliphant (Brent) of Red Lodge, Montana, Angela Violet Jensen (Richard Marshall) of Pocatello, Idaho, and Crystal Ann Jensen (Ron Ashton) of Ammon, Idaho. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, two sisters Elaine Tedrow of Carmichael, California and RosaLee Winder of Boise, Idaho.

She is preceded in death by both parents Erma LoRee Hansen and Andrew Wesley Hansen, two brothers Jerald and Wesley, and three sisters LoRee Hook, Carol Lebrecht, and Reva Gerdes.
