Wayne Leonard Sharp, 79, of Sugar City, died July 20, 2015, at Madison Memorial Hospital of natural causes. He was born April 11, 1936, in Rexburg, Idaho to Leonard and Ada Smith Sharp. He was the oldest of three children.
He attended school in Rexburg and graduated from Madison High School and then attended Ricks College.
Wayne married Glenda Louisa Hammer on June 2, 1961, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They were blessed with three children.
He was actively involved on the Madison County Soil Conservation board.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a faithful home teacher.
Wayne was an avid farmer. From an early age his father had him actively working alongside him on the farm. Later he had the opportunity to farm with his brothers, son and grandsons.
He is survived by his wife Glenda of Sugar City; son John (Lori) Sharp of Sugar City, daughter Jana Sharp of Sandy, Utah; a son-in-law Robert Parish, brothers Guy (Roselyn) Sharp and Dean (Diane) Sharp all of Rexburg; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter LeeAnn.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 24, at the Sugar City LDS Stake Center with Bishop Kip Harris officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Friday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the stake center prior to services. Interment will be in the Sugar City Cemetery.
