Evan William Dick, 73, of Rexburg, died May 3, 2009 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of complications of an accident and long illness. He was born January 22, 1936 in Jerome, Idaho to Arthur William and Zola Georgenia Olsen Dick. He attended schools in Richfield and Jerome, Idaho.

He married Eleanor June Lipe on August 24, 1954, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.

He owned a store in Rupert, Idaho. In 1968 he moved to Ashton, Idaho where he purchased the Coast-to-Coast Store, V&S Variety and Radio Shack, doing business until his retirement in 1992. He and his wife then moved to Rexburg where they have lived since. They enjoyed spending their winters in Casa Grande, Arizona and St. George. Utah.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Elder's Quorum and Sunday School presidencies and the High Priest Group leadership. As Scoutmaster, he took the scouts on two super exchanges to California. He served as a member of the High Council and as a stake missionary. He and his wife served two family history missions in Salt Lake City. Working with genealogy gave him great pleasure.

He loved traveling and activities with his children and great-grandchildren, such as taking them all on a trip to Disneyland.

He loved people and enjoyed visiting when they came into his store. He served as president of the Chamber of Commerce, in the Rotary Club, and was always there to help and support in whatever needed done.
