Obituary

Wilma Bethea Muir Brown, 87, of Rexburg, died November 11, 2013, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of natural causes. She was born September 11, 1926, in Rexburg, Idaho to Walter Bassett and Mary Ann Virgin Muir, the youngest of 11 children. She attended Madison schools and graduated from high school and LDS Seminary in 1944.

She grew up on a farm where she learned how to work hard; hoeing beets, milking cows, gardening and learning to care for an orchard and berry patch. She loved berry picking all her life.

She married Ned Smith Brown on March 15, 1944 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Together they farmed, ranched and raised a family. She worked hard to always provide wonderful meals and a clean home for her family. Ned died on April 29, 2011.

Besides working on the family farm, she worked at Edmunds School, Fresh Pak, and Roger Brothers, now Basic American Foods. She retired in 1995.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

She enjoyed genealogy, poetry, square dancing and singing in choirs. She loved to hunt, fish and camp with her husband and family. She especially loved trips and spending time with family and friends. Time with her grandchildren was always treasured. She was loved and will be missed by many.

She is survived by her children, Linda (Ray) Carlson of Idaho Falls, Gregory (Janet) Brown, Kevin (Theresa) Brown, Kerry De (Helen) Brown all of Plano, Nedra (Archie) Clark of Idaho Falls, Lorna (Robert) Hines of Plano; sisters-in-law, Eloise Muir of Rexburg and Verla Brown of Plano; 25 grandchildren and 67 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ned; two great-granddaughters; brothers, Elden, Marlin, Clifton, Rulon and Hazen Muir; sisters, Bertha Walker, Thelma Whittaker, Garnet Beardall, Ethel Howard and Hazel Weatherston.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, at the Plano LDS Chapel with Bishop Kyle Williams officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Plano Cemetery.
