Zoe Ladean Shuey Austin, 86, of Idaho Falls, died June 18, 2013 while residing at the Monticello Assisted Living Center.

She was born February 24, 1927, in Gresham, Oregon to Bert Roy and Lila Diona Shuey, and was greeted by an older brother and sister.

During her youth her family moved several times and finally settled in Flathead Lake, Montana where at the age of 2 she lost her mother to pneumonia.

As a child she had many adventures while moving around Montana. She attended Lone Pine and Trout Creek while in Junior High and graduated from high school in Thompson Falls, Montana, where she met her husband to be, Keith Austin. After graduation they were married. To this marriage were born a son and four daughters.

Zoe and Keith's lives changed after becoming members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Zoe served faithfully throughout her years in the church as a Primary teacher, Den Mother and Cub Scout leader, Sunday School teacher, 2nd counselor in the Relief Society, genealogy teacher and Seminary teacher. Years later they served as a couple missionary in Tallahassee, Florida. After several more moves Zoe and her husband finally settled in Idaho Falls.

She is survived by her children Sharon (Gerald) Nagel, Mark (Peggy) Austin, Janet (Terry) Moore, Betty Paulsen and Robin Ayres; 25 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother and two sisters, a grandson and a son-in-law.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 21, 2013, at the Rexburg Cemetery with Bishop Louke officiating. Mark Austin will be dedicating the grave.

The family would like to thank Safe Haven Health Care, Mount Vernon & Monticello Assisted Living, and Aspen Home Health and Hospice for the care provided to their mother during her last days here on earth.
