Teresa Ostberg

Teresa Angela Westerlind was born in Staunton, Virginia on January 3, 1961 to Franklin Alton Westerlind and Rachel Naomi Moore Westerlind.

At the age of 4 when her parents were baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Teresa was blessed by Elder Gary C Hale the same day her parents were confirmed members of the Church. In 1966 when she was 5, her family moved to Alsip, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, where they lived until 1975.

On January 31, 1969 Teresa was baptized into the Church by her father at the Naperville Stake Center in Illinois. She served as Seminary Secretary 1975 - 1976, Primary Teacher 1977 - 1978, 1st Counselor in the Laurel’s Presidency 1979, and while in college in 1981 she was a Family Home Evening Group Leader and after returning home from college she was called to be a Mia-Maid Teacher.

Teresa married Tom E. Ostberg on October 9, 1981 in the Idaho Falls Temple. After a two week honeymoon that included Yellowstone National Park, Mount Rushmore, Nauvoo & Carthage Illinois capped with a reception in Chicago and returning through Bismarck, North Dakota they found that their landlord had allowed vandals (friends) in to mischievously decorate the whole house the had rented in Chester.

She worked for Porter’s Ben Franklin in St. Anthony, for Dr. Mellor in Rexburg, the Chester Post Office and Artco in Rexburg. She worked for the Fremont County School District in the lunch rooms and later as a bus driver.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 10th at 11:00 a.m. in the Ashton LDS Stake Center. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. both times at the Stake Center. Burial will be in the Chester Cemetery under the direction of Bert Flamm Mortuary.
