Terry Palmer

April 18, 1951 — March 27, 2026

Terry Lowell Palmer passed away at home in Egin, Idaho on March 27, 2026 from acute renal failure and other medical conditions. Terry was born on April 18, 1951, to Lowell C. and Lucille Abegglen Palmer. He was their only child.

Terry grew up on the Palmer family homestead and graduated from South Fremont High School with the class of 1969. He was active in FFA and the Auto Mechanics program. He went on to attend and graduate from the diesel mechanics program at Idaho State University in 1970. He also served in the Idaho National Guard from 1971 – 1978.

Terry married Carolena Anderson on October 25, 1974, and they made their home on the homestead. Terry farmed in the Egin and Parker area for many years and supplemented that with mechanic work on the side. In the late 80’s and early 90’s, he began to do more mechanical work and worked for many farmers in the Hamer to Parker area. He and his son Robert started Palmer’s Parts and Repair and became known for their ability to work on the decommissioned Army trucks that the farmers used in the sandy fields of Hamer. They also built many of those Army trucks by rebuilding the motors and stretching the frames out to fit the modern potato beds. Terry also spent 18 months working for Boyce Equipment in Ogden, Utah in the mid 90’s. Upon returning home from that, he took over the daily operations of the home place and still did mechanic work on the side. He was known for his ability to work on older “vintage” tractors.

Terry is survived by his wife Carolena of Egin, children Katrena (Jeff) Orme of Teton, & Robert (Rosanna) Palmer of Egin, and mother-in-law Anna Jane Anderson. He was so proud of his 6 grandchildren, Cody, Emily, Bryden, & Pearson Orme, Piper & Kipton Palmer and his 2 great-grandchildren, Swayzee & Hattee Orme. He was preceded in death by his parents Lowell and Lucille, a granddaughter Makena Orme, and father-in-law Cleon Anderson.

Per Terry’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 7 from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Bert Flamm Mortuary, 581 E. 1st N.,  in St. Anthony.

In lieu of flowers, please make any donations in Terry’s name to the National Kidney Foundation. www.kidney.org or the Idaho FFA Foundation. www.growidahoffa.org
