In Memory of Justin Thompson 1990-2026
Justin Thompson, loving husband and father of three, peacefully passed away in his sleep while working at a new job in Reno, Nevada. He had just earned his Journeyman’s Electrician’s License and started a new job while his family prepared to move from Idaho.
Born in Portland, OR, and raised in Lehi, UT, Justin Thompson is the son of Winnie Martin Thompson and Lisa Hadlock Thompson. As a boy he enjoyed all things Pokemon, music with his family, and had mad skills as a lacrosse goalie which he got to play with his brother as the attack position. He was an Eagle Scout, debate champion, and graduated from Lehi High School in 2008.
He went on to play Lacrosse at Utah Valley University and Virginia State on scholarships. He moved back to Utah and began an electrician apprenticeship. He was very regimented and disciplined in both his life and his job.
He married the love of his life, Rachel Howard, on December 1st, 2018. He was excited to be a father and his life revolved around his little family. They were sealed as a family in 2025 in the Rexburg, ID Temple for time and eternity. And he was looking forward to welcoming their third child at the time of his death.
He enjoyed camping, fishing and getting his hands on as many guns as possible. He often played Pokemon Go with his family and anyone who enjoyed the game. He could name every Pokemon in existence without pause. He enjoyed running and hiking as a family and was always up for another adventure. Justin filled his days with music; whether it was singing, guitar, silly dancing, finding new songs, or enjoying the old ones. He knew just about every song that was brought up, and even the details of the artists and their inspirations for their sound. Everyone was amazed by his deep voice. Justin loved to laugh with a signature laugh that was contagious. And he always had an easy laugh, grossing out his wife with his pranks and jokes.
Justin is survived by his wife, Rachel, and his children Zane, Jade, and Maddox; his father, Winnie Thompson; his mother Lisa Hadlock Thompson; and his siblings Wesley (Brittany) Thompson and Madison (Dallin) Largin.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the Parker LDS Chapel. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the Church. Interment will be in the Parker Cemetery under the direction of Bert Flamm Mortuary.
